School Play

8 Apr

Jennifer and I have a date night every week.  We are fortunate in more ways than one to have her mom Laverne living with us.  She gets the boys once a week and we get to play.  We are always on a budget so the dates are “Cheap Dates” and this makes them always a bit different and always FUN!  We were planning to go to The Providence Public library for the free improv comedy but at the last-minute decided to see the 8th grade play at Annan and Malens school, The Meadowbrook Waldorf School

I love Peter Pan

Peter Pan was amazing.  It was such a treat to see the kids on stage with poise and confidence never mind some of the acting was pretty darn terrific!

When we returned home I found a nice little surprise!

detail Annan on paper

Taped on my wall above my dresser was this portrait of Annan by his friend MAX.  I especially like how it was probably stepped on a few times during the play date and then it was salvaged as totally worthy of a gift for Daddy.

One of the benefits of  the no media rule in our house, ( no tv, no computer games etc.) Art fills that void.  The boys are always creating/making things and when friends come over if they are not outside in the fresh air playing, they are creating.

Get your kids making art!  Regain their brain and awaken their creative souls!

30 postcards with starter doodles that just need finishing! Each page has 1 to 4 suggestions of items to draw. No help, just draw this...

A simple text line suggest what you should draw on the page: Sunday paper, Elephant, Bob Marley. you do the rest. Love this!

Both books are available at
